Festive Alsace
Have you ever been to Alsace? If so, you know that it is a festive land, joyful and close to its traditions. If not, you will discover it!
On the Alsace Wine Route there is a palpable effervescence all year round. Here, gastronomy, local produce and epicureanism are celebrated every day!
Whatever the season, you will always find an opportunity to feast here.
Back to the vines in spring
In the Kaysersberg valley, the Salon des Vins et de la Gastronomie kicks off the season: in March, the Confrérie des Amis d’Ammerschwihr et du Kaefferkopf invites winegrowers from France and elsewhere, the opportunity to taste wines other than the local ones!
When spring comes, the Alsatians find their way back to the vineyards: gourmet walks are organised in many communes. They are an opportunity to go out with friends or family, to appreciate the landscapes but also to taste local products in harmony with Alsace wines, through gourmet stops along the way. From Sigolsheim, Ammerschwihr or Kaysersberg, take the vineyard path!
During the Whitsun weekend, the independent winegrowers open their doors to visitors: it is the picnic at the winegrower’s. Come with your picnic, the winegrower will offer you wine to accompany this festive moment!
Do you know the SlowUp of Alsace? For almost 10 years, on the first Sunday of June, pedestrians, pushchairs, cyclists and rollerbladers have been taking over the Alsace Wine Route, which is then closed to motorised traffic for one day. From Sélestat to Bergheim, several routes allow you to rediscover the vineyards by taking the Wine Route, the Véloroute du Vignoble and other cycle paths, all in a festive atmosphere!
A festive and gourmet summer on the Alsace Wine Route
Throughout the summer, the winegrowers organise outings in the vineyards to discover their trade, followed by a wine tasting. From the vine to the glass, follow the grapes on their journey! The tourist office of the valley of Kaysersberg also proposes to you, in partnership with our wine growers, free exits each week.
The gourmet aperitifs at the independent winegrower’s also punctuate the season, and allow greedy and festive moments!
Another major wine event of the summer: the Colmar Wine Fair and its music festival! Taste the wines of many local winegrowers and attend concerts (beware, the big names are there) and shows for nearly 10 days. This is THE summer event for Alsatians!
Have you ever heard of the Alsatian wine festivals? These high points punctuate the summer and enliven the villages of the Wine Route: for an evening or a weekend, they celebrate Alsace wines, of course, and the beautiful season, but also conviviality! Alsatians always have a good reason to celebrate, we warned you!
Autumn in the Alsatian vineyards
Around September, sometimes October, comes harvest time! The winegrowers harvest the fruit of their labour: a joy in itself but also the moment to taste the grapes they have patiently cultivated. They then produce a sparkling beverage, which is enjoyed as an aperitif with grapes, nuts, rustic bread and local charcuterie… the new wine is drawn! Discover it directly at the winegrower’s during new wine evenings or take it home to share with friends.
At the end of October, the vineyard gradually becomes calmer and puts on its golden clothes. It is the occasion for the winegrower to propose you numerous animations around the wine: sometimes unusual, always convivial; enter the dance of the Fascinant week-end en Alsace!
Winter in the wine cellars
Did you think that winegrowers return to their domain in winter, devoting themselves solely to the work of the cellar? No way! Had you forgotten that we are in Alsace? Here, Advent and the Christmas festivities are a joy for everyone!
When Christmas time comes, the winegrowers decorate their cellars in the purest tradition to welcome you in a magical atmosphere for their “Christmas Cellars”! Christmas market at the winegrower’s, tasting of traditional Alsatian Christmas dishes in harmony with their wines, preparation of the mulled wine recipe, and much more: the winegrowers do not lack ideas to seduce you…
