tranquility attitude

As lovers of outdoor activities, we must all be aware that certain actions have irreversible consequences on the environment. Our wish is to invite you to discover the natural wealth that surrounds the Kaysersberg valley while respecting it.

It is quite natural that we have become partners in the “Quietude attitude” programme set up by the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park. Our ambition is to pass on to you the right reflexes to adopt for a responsible cohabitation with the wild world.

In this article we share with you the rules of good manners, but it is on their specialised website that you will find the maximum amount of information to go deeper into the regulations in place and above all to locate the fragile zones thanks to the maps made available (even if the good practices extend without limit over the whole of the natural area).

From home, take the time to identify the protected areas that you will come into contact with depending on the itinerary and the activity that you wish to carry out. This awareness will help to limit the negative impact of your presence in fragile areas. Bivouacking is regulated in some of the valley’s protected areas, and we discuss this in our article on this subject.

When you are there, stay on the marked trails. This rule is a priority, as it allows a harmonious cohabitation. By always following the same paths, the fauna and flora get used to the passage of humans and build their habitat in the gaps, where humans should not go. Sharing in the wilderness is as simple as that.

Don’t forget that just because you can’t see them, doesn’t mean they aren’t there. To help respect the peace and quiet of the wildlife, we ask you to remain silent. Of course, this does not mean that you should walk around with your mouth shut, just be careful not to speak too loudly, let alone shout.

Even if it is an animal, your four-legged friend should be kept on a lead. As they have become more loyal to humans than to their wild counterparts, there is a risk that they will take them as a target and thus provoke their flight or disturb their reproduction.

It is on these basic rules that we wish to make you aware to ensure the balance between your thirst for discovery and the tranquillity of the ecosystem. Thank you for respecting them with us.
